  1. Just received the email from BBRSDA.
Interesting timing. This news of Waldrop’s resignation comes 2 days before the Boston Seafood Show, where the BBRSDA is slated to have a substantial presence.
Per the BBRSDA press release on show participation:

“For the first time, Bristol Bay sockeye salmon will be featured at Seafood Expo North America (formerly the International Boston Seafood Show), taking place March 16th – 18th in Boston, MA.

North America’s largest seafood exposition, this three-day trade show attracts over 19,000 seafood buyers and suppliers from around the world. During the Expo, the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association (BBRSDA) will be hosting Booth #2518 on the show floor and participating in a panel discussion about sustainable seafood brands at 12pm on Sunday, March 16th. The BBRSDA will also be throwing a Bristol Bay reception at the New England Aquarium for fishery stakeholders and supporters. ”

    Here’s the conference schedule:

Waiting to hear more developments. Is Waldrop still going to participate in these events in Boston as our representative? Why the sudden resignation? The timing is terrible for “our brand”. What happened at the BBRSDA Board meeting in Anchorage on March 6-7th that might have led to Waldrop’s departure?
